Shutter Decoration 1: Putting Tinsel Around the Shutters Will Make Them Stand Out!
One of the easiest ways to decorate the shutters of your home is to put up some tinsel on top of the shutters.
Not only is this method of decorating your shutters easy but also it makes the shutters sparkle in whatever light hits them. During the day the sunlight will sparkle off the tinsel on the shutters and add more life to what normally is boring shutters. At night the lights from the Christmas lights will cause your shutters to light up with a wide variety of colors.
The best part about putting tinsel up on your shutters is just how easy it is to take off after the holidays are over. Most people leave their tinsel on the shutters up until just after new years day! When you want to take down this tinsel then simply pull on one end of it and it all should come down.
Because of this Tinsel remains a favorite of ours to put up on our shutters for the holiday season. It is easy to install and easy to take down. On top of this, you can get a wide variety of colors and designs that can be used to match your style.
Shutter Decoration 2: Stringing Lights Across Your Shutters
Another favorite of ours to decorate your home’s shutters for the holiday season is to string lights across them.
This is a great way to bring in some holiday cheer. The lights you can buy nowadays are very complex and can be many different styles. Because of this we always recommend looking to see if the lights you are looking at can be used on shutters. Almost 90% of the Christmas lights on the market can be used on shutters but it’s still a good idea to check.
The lights that can be used on shutters are normal house lights. These are the ones that you hang on hooks suspended from your home’s gutters. For your shutters, you can either wrap them around the shutter or simply tuck them into the top part. This will depend on the type of shutter you have but it should not be too hard to figure it out.
The best part about these lights on your shutters is the wide variety of colors and designs that you can get. From blinking lights to solid colors you can do a ton of stuff with just a little bit of lights and your shutters.
Shutter Decoration 3: Shinning Red or Green Lights On Them
This is by far the easiest way to decorate shutters; simply shine a red or green light up onto them.
Today you can go to just about any home improvement store and buy some red or green lights that are normally designed to shine on your garage or the walls of your house. These lights often come in either green or red colors but if you look hard enough you can buy a light that in just about any color.
With these lights, all you have to do is position them so that the light falls onto the shutters. This will take a bit of time and effort to get right but once you get it set up it looks amazing. I grab a small piece of wood and maneuver it to make sure the light only lands on the shutters themselves.
With these lights you can easily set up your shutters to look amazing for the holiday season. When you are ready to pack up your holiday decorations then simply turn of the lights and pack them away. This is the best part of these decorations; it is super easy to set up and take them down!
Because of that we always recommend at least grabbing one or two of these lights to shine on your shutters for the Christmas season. Doing this will instantly make your shutters pop and stand out when compared to other homes that do not have their shutters decorated.
